Leake was a three-year letterman in basketball and four-year letterman in track and field. He earned All-American Honorable Mention and First-Team All-Northwest Conference honors in basketball in 1965, the year he set the school scoring record with 48 points against Portland State. His best year was during the 1964-65 season when he led the team with a 24-game average of 21.7 points and 11.0 rebounds with a career scoring average of 15.3 points per game across 83 games. He was also a high jumper in track with a best of 6-4.5.
