A four-year letterman quarterback in football and three-year letterman guard in basketball, during Henselman's three years as starting quarterback (1961-63), L&C had a record of 21-4-1. He passed for 2,014 career yards and 29 touchdowns. Henselman led the Pioneers with eight interceptions during the 1960 season playing primarily as a defensive back. After a stellar 1963 campaign he was named the All-Northwest Conference Quarterback selection. He was also the floor leader for the 1962 and 1963 basketball teams that compiled a 43-17 record and went 3-2 in two NAIA national tournaments in Kansas City, averaging 6.3 points over 97 basketball games.
