Active from 1988-1992 • Inducted in 2017
A two-sport athlete from 1988-92, Jerry Walker was a former three-time track and field conference champion and team captain. At the time of his induction, Walker still held the school record for the 400 meters and was a member of the record-setting 4 x 400-meter relay team, while his mark in the 200 meters remained in the school's all-time top 10. He won the 400 meters twice (1991, 1992) and was part of three conference champion relay teams. Walker was a member of two Hall of Fame football teams (1989, 1991) and earned All-Columbia Football Association First-Team honors in 1991, the year he was the team's defensive captain.
Jerry resides in the West Hills area of northwest Portland, Ore. He has been married for over 21 years and has three children, Jerry III, Taylor and Victoria. He is a U.S. Army veteran and has spent the past 20 years working in the manufacturing and operations sector. He is currently working in the pharmaceutical industry as an assistant general manager in a high-volume mail order and central fill operation. His hobbies include his strong passion for helping his fellow physically-disabled veterans and those who struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder. Jerry is very thankful to all of his teammates from Lewis & Clark, and to those in the military. He feels proud to have stood next to those individuals to make a positive imprint on this world.
