Miller won more individual championships and set more conference and district records than any runner in L&C history. He is the L&C record holder in five track and field events, was a four-time NWC champion in the mile and two-mile, twice set conference records in those events, and won five NAIA District 2 championships, including four straight in the three-mile with a record performance each time. He also won the district steeplechase once in record time. He was a three-time All-American steeplechaser, a two-time cross country All-American, two-time NWC and District 2 cross country champion, and four-year letterman in cross country.
Miller is living in Woodside, Calif. with his wife Diane. They have two sons and four grandchildren. He is a retired educator and was twice awarded "Teacher of the Year" in California. His hobbies include running and refereeing professional soccer games.
