Pullin earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the decathlon at the NAIA National Championships in 1981, was a three-time District 2 decathlon champion in 1979, 1980, and 1981, and District 2 triple jump champion in 1981. He set the school record in the decathlon with 6,959 points, was selected as a NAIA Academic All-American in 1981. Pullin was a four-year letter winner and had personal bests of 46-9.5 in the triple jump and 6-8.5 in the high jump.
Pullin resides in the Bethany area of Northwest Portland with his wife Carol. They have two children, Sean and Kelly. Sean was recently married, and he and Hayley have started their professional careers in Portland. Kelly will graduate with a nursing degree in 2013. Pullin is a partner with CFG Wealth Management as a Financial Advisor. Pullin enjoys running, hiking, kayaking and playing golf. He enjoys staying in touch with L&C by volunteering at track meets, serving on the HOF committee, and attending various alumni events.
