A four-year letter winner in baseball and a key member of the 1990 NAIA World Series team. He is the holder of 11 career pitching records, including career (206) and season (92) strikeout totals, innings pitched in a season (113), wins in a season (10), and complete games in a season (10). During his career he compiled a 19-15 record, totaled 15 complete games, threw two shutouts, one no-hitter, and during the playoff run in 1990 he pitched five complete games, including both District and Area championship games.
Nichols currently lives in SW Portland with his wife of 13 years and two sons, Jackson (7) and Griffin (4). Nichols has been in the mortgage industry for the past 18 years and is currently a vice-president with Flagstar Bank. He enjoys golfing, fishing and spending as much time as possible with his family. He has begun coaching his boys' athletic teams, and sees lots more of this in the future.
