Skille was a three-time Honorable Mention All-American in basketball and three times selected to NWC and NAIA District 2 All-Star teams. He led the Pioneers in scoring in 1970-72, averaging 21.5 points as a senior. His career scoring average for three seasons was 17.9 in 82 games. He played one year of football (1970) as a wide receiver and led team in scoring with 6 touchdowns, had 23 catches for 465 yards, and earned All-NWC Honorable Mention.
