One of the leading pass receivers in the Northwest Conference for three years, Head was a NAIA All-American Honorable Mention in 1965 and a three time All-Northwest Conference selection. He set the L&C record with 119 career receptions for 1,867 yards and 18 touchdowns, and earned one letter in basketball, averaging 15.4 points per game during the 1964-65 season.
