Bureker was a four-year letter winner in track & field. In 1997, she was the NAIA National Champion in the pole vault, the first women’s collegiate pole vault champion in America. She was also a 1998 NAIA All-American in the pole vault, finishing in second place at the National Championships on a tiebreak. At the NCIC Championships, she placed ten times for a total of 44.5 points and is ranked in the top 10 on the L&C All-Time List in five individual events, the 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, pole vault, triple jump, and heptathlon.
