A four-year letterman in soccer, Marshall was an Oregon Intercollegiate Soccer Association All-Star for three years. He was selected as team captain for three years and elected Most Valuable Player by teammates in 1972, 1973 and 1974 while playing the central defender position.
Marshall and his wife, Emily, live in Bend, Ore. They have four sons and seven grandchildren spread across the USA. Marshall and his wife do lots of traveling to keep up with everyone. Marshall retired in 2008 from the Redmond School District after 33 years of teaching. He is currently the Associate Pastor at City Center Church in Redmond. Marshall enjoys bicycling, golfing, and discipling young men.
