Duncan was a Northwest Conference champion in the 50 and 100 breaststroke and NCWSA regional champion in 100 breaststroke in 1980. She took sixth place at the AIAW nationals in 1980, garnering All-American status in the 50 breaststroke, was the WCIC champion in 50 breast and NCWSA regional champion in the 100 breast in 1981, earning honorable mention at the AIAW nationals in the 50 and 100 breaststroke. She received All-American honors at AIAW nationals in 1982 for a fourth place finish in the 50 breaststroke, when the team finished seventh at AIAW nationals, the best placing ever at L&C. She currently holds Pioneer all-time records in the 100 breaststroke (5th) and 200 breast (6th).
