Pinder was a four-year starter at offensive tackle for the football team and member of the 1976 Northwest Conference Track & Field Championship Team, participating in the hammer throw. He was a two-time All-Conference selection and a unanimous choice for the All-NAIA District 2 and Little All-Northwest teams. In 1977 he was selected a NAIA Division III Honorable Mention All-American. During his time at L&C, Pinder was considered one of the best pass protection blockers in the area.
Pinder lives in Portland, Ore. with his wife Karen. They have two daughters, Brianna and Elena. Pinder has been involved with teaching all of his career. For many years he taught high school science and math, coaching football, track, and golf in several Portland-area high schools. He is currently the principal of Milwaukie High School. His hobbies include golf, fitness activities, gardening and traveling.
