Mike Thompson was a NAIA Honorable Mention All-American, while being named a two-time All-Conference First-Team and All-District II Defensive Tackle honoree for the Pioneer football team. Thompson captained the team his senior season, the same year he was named the Joe Huston Male Athlete of the Year, as well as earning NAIA/NWC Scholar-Athlete honors. As a senior Mike was named NAIA District II Player of the Week for his performance against Central Washington University. He accounted for 22 tackles (16 unassisted), two sacks, a forced fumble and a blocked extra point attempt. Mike graduated with honors in political science.
Mike currently resides in Hood River, Oregon where works as an attorney with fellow Pioneer, Jeff Baker '83. He has very fond memories of his teammates and his former coaches Fred Wilson, Dell Smith and Dave Crockett.
