Nina Young [Earle] remains one of the best freestyle swimmers in Pioneer history, ranking fourth all-time in the 1000 yd. free, fifth all-time in the 1650 yd. free and seventh all-time in the 500 yd. free. Young earned two Conference Championships during the 1984-1985 season, taking home the top prize in the 500 and 1650 freestyles respectively. That same year Young was named a NAIA All-American, All-District and team MVP. Young also picked up All-Conference honors in the 400IM in 1984-1985.
Following graduation from Lewis & Clark, Nina Earle moved back to the Seattle area and currently resides in Kirkland, Wash. with her husband Nicholas. Currently she works as a paralegal for Swedish Hospital and has been working in in-house corporate legal departments for over 17 years. In her free time she enjoys reading, going to the movies, socializing with friends and travels abroad annually with her husband.
