Arleigh Dodson, professor emeritus of chemistry, served as the commissioner for the Northwest Conference of Independent Colleges (NCIC) before the conference moved to the NCAA and reformed as the Northwest Conference in 1996. He served as the Faculty Athletics Representative during a good portion of the NAIA years and was very active in faculty leadership roles as a liaison to the athletics department. At one point, in 1991-92, Dodson spent a year as the interim athletic director. He arrived at L&C in 1960 and serves on the Albany Society Board.
